Our Team

Peter Stern – Principal

Peter was admitted to practice in 1989 after studying law part-time as a mature-age student, and while working as a professional musician.

Peter specialises in retirement village law – he acts for operators and residents. His other fields of practice are property, wills and estates, and "elder" law.

Peter is often available on Saturdays and outside usual office hours.

Peter is proud of the high level of long-term service, advice and support he provides to his clients.

Peter's interests outside the office include non-competitive sailing – he is the custodian of an historic timber yacht – as well as cinema, reading and bush-walking.

Michael El-Hage – Solicitor

Michael practices in the areas of property, retirement village law, wills and estates law, commercial transactions, building contracts and dispute resolution including litigation.

Michael is enthusiastic, friendly and approachable.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys playing and watching AFL, creative and critical writing, café hopping and reading. Michael’s favourite author is William Faulkner.

Carolyn Madden – Bookkeeper

Carolyn has worked as a legal bookkeeper for about 30 years. Carolyn brings high-level skills and a great sense of humour to the practice.
